Gauteng driver of the year award ceremony 2007
On the 03rd October 2007 at the Gold Reef City Casino, the Department of Community hosted the Driver Of The Year Competition Award Ceremony - 2007, to honour winners of the province with trophies and certificates. The competition was initiated 30 years ago in 1977. The organization of the competition devolved to provinces in 1996. Currently the Road Traffic Management Corporation in conjunction with the 9 provinces coordinates and implements the National Competitions. Each province is responsible for conducting its own competitions in order to enter a team of drivers to compete in the National Competition. The hosting of the National Competitions are being rotated amongst the provinces.
