MEC Cachalia to visit Hillbrow cluster trio task team

Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Firoz Cachalia, will today visit the Hillbrow Police Station cluster Trio Task Team.

The visit is aimed at supporting and encouraging Task Team members as they implement the Gauteng Aggravated Robbery Strategy designed by the Department of Community Safety and the SAPS to reduce crime in the province. The strategy is mainly aimed at combating aggravated robberies specifically in respect to residential and business robberies as well vehicle hijackings, referred to as the "trio crimes" by the South African Police Service .

The Hillbrow cluster has had some successes in dealing with “trio robberies”.

MEC Cachalia will address the media after meeting members of the task team at Hillbrow Police Station.
