Learners Humbled By Ikhaya Lethemba

In an effort to expose girl learners to careers and the work environment, the Department of Community Safety recruited over 31 learners from different schools in Tsakane and Die Fakkel High School to participate in the ‘Take a Girl child to work programme'.

The learners were placed in different business units including Ikhaya Lethemba, the one stop centre for abused women and children.

The programme proved successful and the learners, particularly those placed at Ikhaya Lethemba were humbled by the work done by the centre, so much so that they undertook to engage in a fundraising effort to raise money for toys for the Ikhaya's children section.
