CONSTRUCTION OF THE ORANGE FARM VICTIM EMPOWERMENT CENTER

The Department of Community Safety is in the process of constructing a new Victim Empowerment Center at the Orange Farm Police Station. The Victim Empowerment Center is aimed at providing support services to victims of violent crime and sexual abuse. Once completed the Department in cooperation with NGO'S and volunteers from the community will be assisting victims with various support services including medico legal services, counseling, trial preparations etc. The R2mil project also created 18 new jobs and today 7 men, 3 woman and 8 youth from the Orange farm community are employed by the project.
