 Public Private Partnership against crime to focus on practical actions 

The Provincial, metropolitan, local municipality law enforcement agents, together with private sector security companies, are expected to emerged from a bosberaad agreeing on how to jointly  intensify the fight against crime.

The meeting, which will be addressed by Premier Mokonyane and the Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Khabisi Mosunkutu, comes in the wake of calls for all round intensification of the fight against crime. The meeting also comes shortly after the release of the unsatisfactory crime statistics.

Speakers and delegates from the Security Industry Alliance (SAI), the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA), and the Business Against Crime (BAC) and from both metropolitan and local municipality police are expected to engage on robust discussions on models that could be developed to formalize cooperation. Delegates are also expected to discuss measures to strengthen the regulatory framework for the private sector security industry and incentives that will encourage cooperation amongst all the security and law enforcement agents. It is also expected that this meeting will agree on practical programmes of action aimed at joint operations against crime.
