Security cluster ministers visit Gauteng

Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Firoz Cachalia, will host the security cluster ministers during their visit to the province tomorrow, 07 April 2009.

The ministers include Nathi Mthethwa (Safety and Security), Siyabonga Cwele , ( Intelligence) , Enver Surty ( Justice and constitutional development ), and Loretta Jacobus (Deputy Minister of Correctional Services).

The objectives of the visit include the assessment of the state of readiness of the security machinery for the forthcoming general elections and encouraging political tolerance. The ministers will also visit Alexandra Township where they will meet various stakeholders and embark on a walkabout.

A media briefing will take place at the Alexandra Police Station at 14h00.
