GAUETNG SAFETY VOLUNTEERS TO BE REWARDED FOR THEIR HARDWORK

The MEC for Gauteng Community Safety, Khabisi Mosunkutu, will reward more that 2000 Gauteng safety volunteers for their devotion and commitment in the fight against crime in Gauteng on Monday, 7 September 2009 in Pretoria.

This event comes after a similar event held on Monday, 31 st August at the Hartfield Arena, west of Pretoria where about 2200 volunteers were honoured.

The volunteers will receive certificates after they attended and successfully completed a course on self-management, community awareness, personal effectiveness, conflict management, Service delivery and Community Relations.

The course is offered by the University of Pretoria and accredited by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) as part of the Department of Community Safety skills development programme on volunteers.
